<para>Transects carried out during the day, through Diva Scuba.
Based on in situ quantification of invertebrates, and due to the time required, video and photo transects were also carried out, with the aim of maximizing the information collected by diving. Individual video transects covering 20 m and photo transect series consisting of 20 images.

<para>Several sites around “Islote El Pelado” and others along the coast of the “REMAPE” reserve were used for the study. The sites were selected based on the following criteria: maximum depth of 16 m, rocky substrate, different exposures (windward vs. leeward) and ease of access.
We found some coastal sites with rocky substrates, mostly near Ayangue.
